The Best Neutral Eyeshadow Palette EVER

Welcome to the Kryolan Variety 3 Eyeshadow Palette.
I bought this little beaut a few months ago whilst I was doing my course. A lovely lady from Kryolan came to our academy to give a demo and used this. Of course no demo would be complete without a discounted shopping session after and to be honest, it would have been rude not to get anything! Right, let's take a peek inside...

As you can see this palette contains all the neutral eyeshadows you could ever need! I love that it contains a row of pale nudes, a row of brown nudes and a row of greys. All the shadows are a silky matte finish, which is great because I hate matte shadows that appear chalky. As well as working within the colour families, you can also pick a column of 3 shades and work across the different colour families.

I've swatched all the shadows for you so here's a closer look at all the beautiful shades.

L-R: RB10, RB72, AB69, M15, M13 & Nappa
 L-R: Beige, Bamboo, Sahara, Beach, 759 & K3
L-R: Stone, Titan, Moondust, Anthracite, Charcoal & Black

I really like that these shades are the perfect foundation for every eye look you could ever want to create. Regardless of which eyeshadow I am using, I will always reach for this palette for a base shade. Usually I use Beige all over my eye before any other shadow as it creates a nice base and allows for the true colour of the eyeshadow to show up. If I don't want just a matte eye then I will use these shadows combined with more shimmery shadows or pigment for the desired look.

What do you think of this eyeshadow palette? Which is your favourite palette for a nude/neutral eye?

Current Beauty Favourites

The last couple of months I haven't written a monthly favourites post. Mainly as I haven't had many new favourites the past couple of months but also due to forgetting that it's the end of the month. So I've decided to do things a little differently this month. I'm bringing you a mid month favourites post of bits and pieces I've been loving recently/over the past couple of months. I then won't do a March favourites but will get back on track in April ... or at least that's the current plan!

The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil

The lovely Laya on my course introduced me to this cleansing oil. Usually I would run a mile from this sort of product as it's just too messy for my liking. However, having put on and taken off makeup more times in a day than I can count or care to remember this little beauty is AMAZING! You only need to massage one pump of oil all over your face and then rinse with water. And ta-da no makeup! It really is that simple and it even works with waterproof mascara, a big bonus as they can be a bugger to remove!

Clarins Cleansing Milk

This little beaut made my favourites last June and to be honest it hasn't really left them! I use this nearly every day (I have other cleansers too!) and it's definitely my favourite cleanser. I absolutely love the smell and it leaves my face feeling so refreshed. If you haven't already tried this then I recommend you do! It's great for those with sensitive skin too.

L'Oreal Nude Magique Blur Cream

I posted about this little gem only a couple of weeks ago so I won't rant and rave about it. If you would like to read the full review, click here.

Zoeva Face Shape Brush

I recently treated myself to a set of Zoeva brushes. It would normally have been a little bit of an extravagance, however now I'm a fully qualified makeup artist I need a good set of brushes or 2/3/4! I love the quality of the Zoeva brushes and for the price you can't go wrong! The face shape brush is one of my favourites from the set and I actually use it to apply my foundation as it fits well around the eyes and nose.
MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Mascara

If you've been reading my blog for a while you will know that I go through phases with mascara but that I'm equally very specific with the type of wand that I like. This one from MAC was used in a demo by one of MAC's senior makeup artists and I was sold. I bought it and was just as impressed using it as I had been watching someone else use it. I'm right at the end of my current one, but trying to eek it out until I can get round to buying a new one.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream

This is my all time favourite night cream however I stopped using it for a while. With the cold weather having returned, or should I say with the cold weather having stuck around ... I've been reaching for this a lot more. It's so moisturising and I've found that having been unwell this last week or so, it's really helped with the dry skin I've had.

Muji Fine Tipped Cotton Buds

Most people will find these utterly boring and say but they're just cotton buds. No, you are wrong, these are a makeup artists best friend. I never knew they existed until I did my training but they can be life savers. The regular cotton buds that we all have lying around here, there and everywhere are great but for makeup purposes they're just not that precise. These ones are much finer and don't leave a fluffy residue everywhere. Great for perfecting that winged eyeliner or neatening up that bold lip.

What are you loving at the moment? Any products the same as mine?

Makeup Lovin'

Well, I am well and truly rubbish at this blogging malarkey at the moment. This week I've been on 3 different film shoots all in different locations so I've been running round like a headless chicken and getting up at ungodly hours. To make life that little bit worse, I've also been battling flu and a chesty cough and well ... the flu has won. I'm currently tucked up in bed writing this in between very regular coughing fits.

Anyway onwards and upwards before I sink back under the duvet for the day! I have just added some more pictures to my makeup portfolio so I would love it if you could go and have a peek and maybe leave a comment! Go on, it'll cheer me up no end!

This leads me onto something very exciting. I'm currently designing and building my official makeup and hair website so watch this space! I've also set up my facebook page HC Makeup & Hair  so please be a babe a like that for me.

I think that's all I have to update you on today. Once again apologies for being so poopy but hopefully once I emerge from under the covers and regain my lost motivation I will be back with a bang ... watch this space!

I Am Rubbish!

So I've well and truly flopped recently at blogging. I graduated from my makeup course 3 weeks ago today and was determined to get back on track! However I seem to have been a busy bee since finishing. I've already done a short student film which was an amazing experience as it was all special effects makeup. I've also been trying to get to grips with all the official things like registering as self employed and sorting tax codes ... all the boring but necessary stuff.

And now I'm currently at my brothers looking after 2 of my nephews. The 6 year old is at school and the 2 year old has gone for his nap. I planned to blog yesterday while he was napping but I ran out of time as it was a manic day! I thought I would get in today while he is asleep and before we have school pick up.

I've got another couple of films next week and another the week after so you'll have to bear with me on the blogging front but I will certainly be better than this week!

I hope you've all had a good week and enjoy the weekend!
