Review: Ebay Makeup Brushes

Hello, remember me? I know it's been a while but I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and ate/drank far too much! This will officially be my last post of 2014! Crazy. Anyway, onwards and upwards...

A few months ago, I invested in a cheap brush set from Ebay for the messier parts of my makeup course. I didn't fancy using my nice brushes for applying fake blood or clogging them up with gunk in prosthetics. I did a quick search and found this 32 piece set for under £10. You can find the same one here.

I have to admit I wasn't expecting much from these brushes but I was pleasantly surprised. Of course they are nowhere near as good as your MAC, Zoeva or Sigma to name a few but I've tried worse! The brushes are all really soft and the majority of the brushes are of a good quality. There are a couple that malt all over the place and eat up all the product but I can live with that for the price I paid.

I was quite impressed with the range of smaller brushes in this set. Usually cheaper sets don't tend to have small detail brushes so I was surprised that there was such a variety in this set. I really like the thin eyeliner brushes and the other small flat top brushes are great for getting right into the lash line with colour.

If I've learnt one thing over the last few years, it's that you can never have enough eyeshadow brushes. I don't know why but I always seem to use so many, especially when doing someone elses makeup. These are a great variety of sizes and some are fluffier than others, which is great for blending.

The larger brushes in the set are slightly more hit and miss. The flat foundation brush is fairly good, although I don't tend to use this sort of brush for my own foundation. The fluffier brushes aren't so great so I don't tend to use them very often.

Overall this is a great brush set if you are looking for something very low budget. Admittedly I would never have bought these if it hadn't been for my course and needing some brushes that could potentially get ruined. However if you're just starting out with makeup or have younger siblings that steal your brushes then these are great to start out with.

What do you think of these brushes? Do you have any low budget brushes that you like?
