My Beauty Storage

Happy Monday! I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and aren't too sad it's Monday again! Today I thought I would share my beauty storage with you. As you can see from the first couple of pictures my storage system was non-existent. These pics were taken just after Christmas and it was a whole lot worse than this when I decided enough was enough and I needed to sort it out! Warning: picture heavy!

I was so fed up of my mountainous pile collapsing on a daily basis that something had to be done! The gold box is full of nail varnish and the brown box stores all my hair and body products.

A classy plastic bag storing my Ciate nail varnishes from the Mini Mani Month Advent Calendar. My plate has all the goodies from the Boots Beauty Advent Calendar

And here is the transformation…

I'm not one for storing everything away in drawers as it's just a hassle to get it all out again when I want it. Now I've only got my current daily makeup on the top and my perfume collection. Then on the shelf behind I have my most used brushes, my makeup bag, my brush cleaner, my heat protection spray and body lotion, my plate full of body products that I'm yet to open and my brown box which hasn't changed. Also who can spy the picture of my from when I was diddy.

Now I've sorted my top drawer so that it's more efficient than it was! The drawer dividers are from Ikea and an ideal storage solution. The only disadvantage of these dividers is that they only provide 6 in a pack, which leaves a gap in the drawers so I had to by 2 packs to get the right sizes to fit together!

These two sections store my face products. The back is a bit more of an oddment section with some hair ties and grips in, cotton wool, cotton buds, aloe vera gel and other random bits. The front section stores products I use more often. Many of you will probably scream no at the face wipes but I'm still in the process of trying to stop using them so they're staying for now! I have my cleanser, toner, day cream, night cream, face mask and foot lotion in here. I know you're all thinking foot lotion doesn't go on your face but I use it regularly and it fits in the gap perfectly!

All my eye products. My palettes at the back, a few of my single eyeshadows at the front that I use most often, all my liquid, gel and pencil eyeliners and all my mascaras on the right hand side. There are about 8 mascaras in here and I have no idea why because I only ever use the same one! I think I need to branch out a bit more!

My lipstick and lipgloss section - well the ones that I could find! I'm sure there are a few that haven't made it in here because I've forgotten which bag I've put them in! I found 11 in one bag just before taking these pictures so quickly added those in. I mean who needs 11 in their bag!?!? Sitting here typing I can think of 4 others which I forgot to add in as their new and waiting for pictures to be taken!

All my face products including foundation, bb cream, powder, concealer, highlighter, blusher and bronzer.

Again this is sort of an oddment section. It has my primers and lip care in as well as some face cream, eye makeup remover, other eyeshadows that I don't wear so often, MUA fixing spray, perfume samples, fake eyelashes and some product boxes that I can't seem to throw away. Yes, I'm a hoarder and keep them just in case!

Finally, my nail varnish storage has had a makeover too. It got to the point where my gold box was no longer big enough and I needed to sort it out. I took to ebay to find a stand for them but as I had so many the search wasn't too successful. So I came up with this idea of storing them on my Emma Bridgewater tray and I'm so pleased with how they look. I then used the lid of the gold box to store the extras in that don't fit in the tray. I'm yet to decide where to store my nail wheels.

So there you have my beauty storage makeover. I'm so pleased with my storage now, although old habits are slowly creeping in and my neatness has slipped slightly.

What do you think of my storage? How do you store all your beauty products? If you've written a similar post then leave me the link and I'd love to check yours out!

  5. noooooooo! Now I don't have someone as unorganised as me! My storage is more like your before pictures! I have good intentions but then I like things that I use to be 'right there' ....It's awful! I really do need to sort it out.
