Beauty Books

Welcome to my post for topic 3 of the 2014 Blogger Challenge! Gaby set us the task to blog about a book - whether it be one of our new favourites, an old favourite, a book we don't like … basically anything!

I thought rather than posting about a fictional book I would do something a bit different. I'm not a massive one for reading books unless it's on a summer holiday and then I always have a book on the go. But for my birthday/Christmas I received quite a few books and so I'm going to share 3 of my current favourites with you. Not 1, but 3, because we all know I'm rubbish at making decisions and so choosing 1 was just too hard!

1001 Little Beauty Miracles

My mum bought this for me as well as 1001 Little Health Miracles. I haven't looked at the health miracles one much yet but I've dipped into this one quite a bit. It's amazing to think that although we all have our own ways of doing things, there are so many tips that could make our lives so much easier! I've found some really good tips as well as some that I already do. Here's a little look at a couple of the pages…

The Complete Make-Up Artist

This is a well-loved book by many MUAs and beauty bloggers. As some of you may or may not know, I'm hoping to go and train at the academy set up by the author of this book - Penny Delamar. Delamar Academy is one of the top makeup schools so what better book to receive than one written by the best. Here's a peek into this amazing book...

Just looking at all the amazing before and after photos makes me so excited to think that one day that could be me creating those changes. So fingers crossed it all works out!

Makeup: The Ultimate Guide

Another beautiful book on makeup. This is less in-depth than the one mentioned above but gives you more ideas and step-by-step instructions on how to create particular looks. I love that it gives you a guide as to what colour eye makeup you should use depending on your eye colour (see picture below). I've photographed a couple of the make-up looks  too - see below.

These 3 books are definitely the ones I find myself dipping into most at the moment. The amount I have learnt from them in such a small space of time is amazing and I would definitely recommend all 3.

If you would like to see any of the content of these books in more depth in another blog post please leave me a comment below. I could start a new blog series about the 1001 Little Beauty Miracles and pick a different topic each time and give my top 5 tips from the book if anyone would be interested?

What do you think of my book choices? Do you own any of these books? Or do you want to go and buy any of them having read this? Don't forget to comment on the above idea!

So it must be the right thing to do! I've got a meeting at Delamar in a couple of weeks and then should know when I'll be starting and which course I'll be doing! X
