Ahhh one week until Christmas! I can't believe how quickly the days are going at the moment! We finally put the decorations on our tree last night as my dad eventually got the decs out of the loft after 3 weeks of constant nagging - talk about Bah Humbug! But now it's up and looking festive I thought I would show you how we decorate our tree.
We always have a synthetic christmas tree and have had this one for several years now. We always decorate it with both multi-coloured lights and white lights and all our decorations are either handmade by friends/family or each have their own little story as to how we got them. My mum also hates tinsel on the tree as it's so bulky it hides all our little decs so instead we drape over lametta (the sliver sparkly strands). I thought I'd share a few of my favourite decorations with you before showing you the final tree in it's place.
My favourites are the snowman on the top row, the dog next to him and the Empire State Building bauble. I was given the snowman by my gran when I was about 8/9 and still love him to this day! The dog is a relatively new addition but we have a Westie called Freddie and bought this to remind us of him! Finally I went to New York for my 21st last year and bought back this bauble as a memento of my trip!
And finally the complete tree in all it's sparkly shiny glory…
Our tree has to live in our conservatory because there is nowhere in the house that is large enough to put it! But our conservatory does link onto our lounge so every night we do get to sit and look at it while we're watching tv!
So that's my Christmas tree for you! What do you think of it? How do you decorate yours?
