Blogmas Day 16 - December Birchbox

Welcome to Blogmas Day 16! I can't believe Christmas is just over a week away!

I've been wanting to subscribe to some sort of beauty box for a while now but wasn't entirely sure which one I wanted. In the end I decided to go with Birchbox as they seemed to have the best reviews recently. I asked my brother and sister for a subscription for my birthday/Christmas. By complete coincidence it actually arrived on my birthday! I was so excited to open it that I went a bit snap happy and have photographed every single step of opening it!

I think the way everything is presented is so cute and definitely makes the whole experience much better! And so exciting to have to open a bag once you've opened the box rather than all the items being thrown in the box.

And here's what I received…

I've heard about twistbands but never tried them so I'm excited to see if these live up to my expectations. They are supposed to stop hair snagging and not leave kinks so fingers crossed they work! Twistbands come in packs of 6 and cost £10.00.

Nail Rock Glitter Red

This is the perfect Christmas addition to my nail collection! I really like the sound of this nail art as it seems so simple. All you have to do is apply 2 coats of the nail varnish, dip your nails into the glitter and then wait around 15-20 minutes for them to dry! That's my Christmas nails sorted! This is full size and costs £6.99.

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanillé Body Butter

I have never tried anything from Laura Mercier before so I can't wait to try this out and it smells amazing! Full size product retails at £26.00.

Model Co Party Proof Lipstick in Get Naked

I'm not a massive fan of nude lipsticks although receiving one like this is great as it may be a turning point for me! I actually really like this colour although it's not really suitable for this time of year! The only drawback for me is that it's quite drying so it makes my already dry lips look even worse. Although I can imagine this will be perfect in spring/summer when dry lips are not so much of a problem! If I had a choice, I probably would have chosen one of the other shades but I'm certainly not going to complain at adding another lipstick to my collection! The Naturals Trio retails at £15.50 so just over £5.00 per lipstick.

Delarom Aquaconfort Mask

This product is perfect for those with dry skin and as I do suffer from dry skin I can't wait to try this out. It claims to leave skin radiant and refreshed so fingers crossed it's a good'un! A full size 50ml tube costs £24.00.

Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle

Anything that claims to minimise frizz is more than likely going to become my best friend! This leave in mist is also highly conditioning and detangles hair too, adding shine and protecting against heat. I think this is going to be a favourite of mine as I have frizzy hair and am always straightening it. Plus from the few reviews I've read, people are raving about how good it smells and how soft their hair feels after using it! A full size bottle will cost you £15.00.

I've really enjoyed receiving and opening my first Birchbox. I promise not to get so carried away with taking pictures next time! I'm definitely impressed so far and hope that the rest are as good! I thought I was getting a 6 month subscription but found out yesterday that it's actually a year! So I'm super excited to be receiving something every month until my birthday comes around again!

Do you subscribe to Birchbox? What did you get in your box? Or have you tried any of these products?
